I come from a family of photographers. My grandfather never put down the old school film video camera that I still have sitting on my bookshelf; A sentimental relic that reminds me of the gift of photography that I have inherited. My mother, faculty at a university, kayak fisher, and academic advisor, has no less than 100,000 photos taken since the 80s. She let me take her film camera when I really started to love photography at 20.
Now at 25, I am a Youth Minister at Duke Memorial UMC and a certified candidate for ordination in the United Methodist Church. My wife, Jayne, is an amazing cook, Disney loving, enneagram 2 to my 8. We love camping, travel, Disney, ranting about religion and politics, hanging out 24/7, and our dog Rosie. Our lives will hold many changes for us over the coming years. Excited to see where we go.
I'm passionate about LGBT+ liberating theologies, radical racial justice, ecology, womanism, and harm reduction. My hope is to be a partner in helping people remember life's everyday moments, as well as the "once in a lifetime" moments. I am pursuing my call to ordained ministry as an Elder in the United Methodist Church, which means I care a lot about pastoral care, even while I'm photographing.
